Ethiopia Gerba Hechere

From the high elevations of Guji’s Oda Muda kebele near Gerba town, this washed Hechere lot is a beautifully refined expression of Ethiopian coffee, grown by smallholder farmers at 2200–2350 meters and processed with meticulous care at the Gerba Dogo mill. The cup opens with intensely fragrant florals, like jasmine, orange blossom, and rose, layered over a delicate, tea-like structure and carried by a syrupy sweetness reminscent of light honey and raw sugar. Bright, high-toned citrus access evoke lemon peel and lemon verbena, while hints of pear and white peach emerge as the coffee cools. The coffee finishes with some gental botanical tea bitters and a touch of caramelized sugar.
